I wonder what the normal day of work would be like at a typical Western Union/Money Gram in Nigeria or somewhere else in Africa. I can imagine a line of at least 15 people everyday, all of them asking for an invalid code. And then the next day those same 15 people come in with another invalid code.
Clerk- "welcome back, do you have a valid code this time"
Lad- "Maybe. try this one 1234567890."
Clerk-"You tried that one last week"
Lad- "try this number, and this number and this number"
2ndLad- "hey, that's my number!"
I wonder if they get at least one customer with a valid code |

If you have a look in Scamwarners, you'd be surprised at just how many times they have a valid code.
My guess would be the hundreds of scammers going to WU or MG successfully would outnumber the ones with a fake MTCN. |

estimated profit over $200.000.000.00 a year, that's a lot of MTCN numbers if the highest one can only be ± $3.000.00 |

Keep in mind that there are also legimiate transactions being conducted. Some people who have moved outside of the countries send money back to family members, etc.
Your scenario would be funny though, and I think a baiter attempted to find Vlads with close IP's and send them all to the same WU outlet with the same MTCN on the same day. I'm not sure how it ever panned out. |

@ Ima Beader
Hhahaha, now that is something I could and would do, when I get enough 'skill' to take on like 20 baits at the same time |

Sadly we just can't tell how many lads go down to Western Union with an invalid code. Even if they tell you this happened to them it may just be a guilt trip ploy on their part to get you to send them a real MTCN. Knowing about WU is their business and I'm guessing a lot of them will be aware that they can check an MTCN online before going down to the WU office to collect. |

Yes, important point. I believe that the bait I'm thinking of used Moneygram instead. |

When I send the lads fake WU numbers I always include the secret question and answer which is "What color is your dress?" "Pink"

You know what ?
We should do that. Choose a date for the Grand WU Day.
And every one should try to make all their lads go to the WU in Lagos at this date, with a MTCN we'd all chosen before, something like 1010754195 or something and the same stupid secret question.
What do you think ?

I always tell them that at the post office I went to the computer was broken so the transfer is not in the network.
They always tell me they went down there and were ridiculous. Of course they could be lying but at least that's funny |

@ bertrand79
we should designate a day of the year which will be something like Money Gram day and maybe another one which will be western union day and have all the baiters send the Lads to said money place on that day....
or would that be too suspicious? |

I wouldn't be surprised if you could pull off something like that. Ima's point is s good one, but then again none of them have appeared to have found Google. 10 minutes on a search engine could often save a Lad months of pain - but they never seem to figure it out.
Earlier this summer I sent 3 lads to MTCN S3cur3 at the same time ... it was great fun watching the stats to see who would check the most boxes in the shortest time. The winner did 125 boxes that afternoon. |
