I have a profile on MySpace. It doesn't contain much real information about me, and it's connected to a Yahoo addy that also contains some misinformation (put together before I began baiting - it's more for general safety). But there are pics of me and I have a blog with personal writings (mostly poetry).
I know better than to bait anyone who contacts me on MySpace. Let me make that perfectly clear - I have no intention of baiting this guy - at least not with the persona I have on there.
I would love to have him baited, though, just on general principles. The problem is that he did not include his email address in his first message to me. So my question is - should I respond to his message just to get his email addy so I can put him in here?
(I know he's a scammer - he says he's Keith from Milwaukee, WI, and his command of English doesn't bear that out.) |

I've had that happen. I did what you suggested. I said I was interested but not online much and I didn't even have to ask for the emails. They always volunteer them immediately if they're not with the first contact.
Then I waited a week or two and baited them from one of my baiting names that also has a myspace. Myspace only keeps sent messages on file for two weeks, so if you wait two weeks, he'll have no idea whether he wrote you before or not. But even if you only waited a day, lads don't usually go to their myspace pages once they're created. Most of them rely on that email address they send you. |

The best way to make sure you are safe is to create a new profile and contact him from that, it wouldn't hurt to get an email address out of him with the profile you have then check it out with a few google searches, if you get any hits than you can begin baiting him with the knowledge that his email addie could have come from another place.
The only minimal danger to you is if you are the only one, (or one of only a few) person(s) he has given the email addy to |
