I have heard both ways but the ends up I think is the more common one. I dont have a horse shoe over my garage door. I have a piston rod bent like a horse shoe. It came out of the last engine I blew up at the track. and funny enough it was the only engine that I didn't have blessed before its first start up. so after that I had the rod blessed and I put it up over the door and I haven't blown a engine since and thats going on 15 year now.
