last year my wife had a business trip to california and decided to drag our two boys and I along.
after a fairly uneventful week, we decided to try a whale watching boat tour of Monterey bay.
that day was a once in a life time event;

it seems a transient pod of Orcas were feeding. there were over 50 Orcas in the area and at one point we had 4 within 15 feet of our boat.
just thought i'd share our special day. |

The Monterey Bay is a neat area. Several years ago I lived in Santa Cruz, and would make the occasional day trip there. I try to fit in a day there whenever I'm back that way. |

I knew a guy that was the education director for the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. He had these two little girls that would be great baiters but have a problem with the ITP rule. We would be walking down Cannery Row and one would point and say "Hey look, its Clint!", the other would say, "You're right" and both of them would take 10 quick steps in that direction that the first one pointed to. They would get passed by crowds hoping for a shot of Clint. The girls would get stern looks from the Mom and I would get a stern look for laughing. Nice videos. |
