It seems my Burkina boy is determined to turn me into a cash-baiter...!!

I just don't know what this mugu is trying to achieve with this tactic of offering to send me $4,000, or has he gotten so confused that that he is getting it all arse upwards..

Maybe it's a payment from another victim and he's trying to leverage it to help persuade you. It's worth finding out how he intends to get the payment to you.

@Luckey - Not in the timeframe for a cheque. He is in a right tiswas that this is concluded today.

The only thing that I can think of, is that he is trying to get me to say, that it makes more sense for me to pay the full fees rather than go through the ludicrous process of him sending me $4,000

Either that or he has robbed his oga, and is going on the run.... Laughing

I love the thought of him running from his oga with fistfuls of money, although what will happen to him if he is caught without money is probably little better or worse than what will happen if he is caught with it. I love the thought of him getting caught too. Very Happy

The nearest I have ever come to "cash baiting" was only last week.
My barrister is so annoyingly patient and at the same time reluctant to do the WU baiter form, we have been friendly arguing about 1 month (my 16 y o boy and him) so I kind of lost temper and sent him this :

My question is, Shiver said he cashbaited in a big way. Ay ideas how much? I have a pretty big imagination. I know it's a charged topic around here, and no, I am not thinking about cashbaiting, just curios.

Cash baiting is not done any more, mostly because of legal implications, secondly because it´s not worth the risk...the amounts that have been cash baited the very few times in early scam baiting history are amounts of 3 to 5 to maybe 50 dollars, always meaning weeks and months of hard baiting work. The money is coming from victims anyway, and, as a matter of fact, it´s plain illegal. As baiters, we do not do it any more. Shiver himself called it "you are moving on thin ice legally", or very similar. A poll on 419Eater about this subject has led to 98% of baiters saying not to discuss it, let alone doing it, any more.
Let´s better work towards satisfying and crowd-drawing safaris, or killing bank accounts, that hurts them much more Very Happy

Demurrage is a cost payable to someone storing an item as compensation for a delay in retrieving that item from storage. Originally it was used is shipping and meant the payment to a ship's owner for a delay caused by late loading or unloading of cargo.

@Simba: I'm betting he'll send a counterfeit cheque. He'll pressurize you to send the payment to the bank while it's in the post, so you'll go out and do it immediately on the day the cheque arrives. "Wow, he was telling the truth after all".

Everyone who comes here is much too honest to even contemplate conning money out of lads. 99 percent of the time you'd just get a bad cheque anyways. And if you did succeed in getting cash money sent, it'd either be counterfeit, or the proceeds of robbing a little old lady out of her life savings. Not the best type of money to have, and not fairly and squarely lost by the lad anyway. It was never really his to give. To cap it all, you could find yourself up in court as a fraud star. Take our advice, stay away from it.

Simba: Forgive me if I missed it, but has he said HOW he wants to get the money to you? Make up some crap about tax laws and ask him before he sends the money how he intends to send it to you as you and your tax attorney have to discuss if that will work. Then you might suss out from him more of the details. From there we can probably work out what he intends (i.e. bad check, flash etc).

I am certain of one thing... there is a scam. He is not sending you $4K.
