I've got a scammer I've been keeping busy for 3 days now with 7 replies from him. He's expecting a Western Union transfer from me and is also wanting a phone number.
I sorta messed up and he knows I have a phone. I admitted to speaking to my assistant on the phone once.
Is there a way to give him a bogus number without involving an innocent 3rd party. I don't want to give him the number to a local bar for example.
Thanks |

There's all sorts of modalities for not giving out a phone number:
-I share a phone with several other people, and can't guarantee that I'll be the one to answer - this is a confidential transaction, right? My (roommates/co-workers/students/bitches 'n' hoes) would ask questions if they received a call from (Charles Soludo/Mariam Abacha/the second son of the Prince of Nigeria) asking for me.
-I have a speech impediment and don't like talking to strangers on the phone.
-I live with (shift nurses/night-shift workers/working ladies) who have strange hours; a phone call would be sure to wake one of them up, which I don't want.
-I don't think my phone receives international calls. Once my aunt took a trip to Paris and tried to call me from France, but said that she couldn't get through. We had to email instead.
-Simpler is sometimes better: "I don't want to."
-Or simply ignore the request and go on with other things.
... and more.
Or you can sign up for K7. |

Features:
Answered by a machine 24/7
Returns a tone which you can say was a problem such as fax machine was left on and connected.

K7 is your friend. Not only do you get a totally believable bogus number, but they even send your lad's frustrated voicemails to your e-mail address.
Alternatively, if you actually want to talk to him, there's a link in my sig with instruction to setting up a totally free untracable US landline number. |
