But to be honest, Dott. the babelfish translation is making more sense than the stuff that some lawyers write (in german) |

But it had been quoted on the Deutschmark bills:
Quote: |
Wer Banknoten nachmacht oder verfälscht, oder nachgemachte oder verfälschte sich verschafft und in Verkehr bringt, wird mit Zuchthaus (later: Freiheitsstrafe) nicht unter zwei Jahren bestraft. |
Years ago I wanted my business cards to be printed on the official paper being used by the Deutsche Bundesbank. But this is an offence too.
Edit:
I've always been loving the term "Zuchthaus" (hard to translate; "penitentiary" doesn't match it) |

Mail one to your lad, and tell him you're laundering money, he should WU you 75% of the value and keep 25%.
Of course nobody will cash it, and he'll have no access to anyone with enough money to do so, or even enough change to be able to spend it...so you'll have him stuck with a million bucks he can't spend
If he posts it out to a vic in the US, they'll be put straight by the bank pretty quickly, so the risk of it being used in a scam is near-nil in my humble! |

I'd still be a little wary of helping the lads get their hands on these. |

Hmm, how long before the lads are sending these out, after deducting some important fees first, or asking for a small percentage to be Western Unioned back. They could stop the victim going to the bank by raising bogus tax or money laundering issues, though God knows where the punter would expect to get change for it if he can't go to a bank.
Got to be less hassle than a trunkbox, and there is no shortage of gullible people, as we see every day.
Lad sends you your fund as 25 Million dollar notes - anyone who believes there is $25 million in a trunkbox will believe these are real. Anyone who believes the trunkbox full of black paper is really full of money will believe them.
At the risk of sounding a killjoy grouch (again), my vote is that it's a BAD idea to release these into ladland. |

I had always wondered if obviously fake bills, meant as a joke not as a counterfeit device were legal. For instance at fairs, ebay, etc I've seen put your face on a dollar bill type promotions.
What I was told by a vendor of these was as long as you don't have an intention of circulating these bills as actual currency they are considered a novelty item and are legal in the US.
May or may not be true considering the guy was trying to sell me a dollar bill for 10 bucks |

@ronco
I have both three and eight dollar bills.. (lots of them)
A friend bribed his way across the middle east with a pocket full of those..
If I can find the scans, I'll post them
And yes they are legal.. (Not for commerce)
The US Mint never made any 3 or 8 dollar bills.. |
