I have not been following closely but do not completely agree with this by the Sparkly one.

I agree with you to a point Murry. I pick my battles very carefully. Some things aren't worth wasting my time on. Others are, and those are the ones that I use honey or vinegar depending on the situation and what I want to achieve. Very Happy

I have a work collegue who uses and lives by that phrase and to be honest I do agree with the principle of it in almost all instances.

Just recently after he said it I told him that better still lets catch some flies with S*it, he is a very serious and well natured person but found that very amusing and chuckled about it for an hour Laughing

There's nothing wrong with it if it's used appropriately. I wouldn't just be an ass to someone though.

My wife and I are a landlords biggest wish. we are alway landscaping. to no cost of the landlord. and repairing stuff, painting, biulding, and 98% of the time we never ask for reabursment, we had a rough time a few years back. and got about $6000 behind in rent but a kept paying what I could and because I was always will to help him with repairs to his other propertys, he never even hinted to kick us out.
when last year I got this job which pays 2X what my old one did, we got all our back rent and paid up in about 4 months. and now as of tomorrow, my mother in law and her boyfreind will be owning this place. my landlord is retiring to florida. so they bought it,

Move to Australia? I dont think I could get used to the water going down the drain in the wrong direction. and July being winter.
we may not own the place but we consider it "our own" between my son in law and step Daughter, and my Wife and I, we have put countless hours and tons of our own money in to it. My mother in laws Ins. co. drove past it the other day just to take a look at it. and could not beleve it was a rental property. a three unit one at that.

Yeah, winter in July is a bit weird but then again Christmas is mid summer here! And as a former Brit I find that a bit weird too to be honest. We can't all organise a white Christmas, but a cold one would be good. We are off the Canada to experience just that this year!

Melbourne is generally a little colder than Sydney but to give you an idea, we had our coldest day in years on Monday, it was about 7 degrees.

very good for the grass, I have a slow growing grass which requires about half the mowing, I haven't mowed for about 2 months, even in summer I can get away with mowing every 2 weeks

I spent some time in a place called Goulburn a few years ago with work, that place gets cold, we were waking up to minus 7 C and the wind made it even colder, puddles on the ground were frozen in the middle of the day and stayed frozen for days, the nature of my work means I had to spend quite a bit of time outside too, I didn't like Goulburn very much Laughing

In contrast summer gets to a bit over 40 degrees C, dont quote me but thats about 110F, thats not too good for outdoor work either
