Thinking here, a Lad having his email account closed might not slow him down for more than a few minutes, but it might just break up his communication with potential victims. As we can bait multiple mugus, they can also scam multiple victims. Somehow I doubt that we can keep them so occupied that they cannot scam other victims at the same time as jumping off roofs and setting their pants on fire.
