I have extra 2 yahoo accounts I have created over the last year or so... always good to have around when you need to register/buy stuff. Anyway both accounts have something like 1500 unread emails in the inbox. I must have some gold in there somewhere... what will the typical subject line be for the scams? This is my first time doing this, and would like to see if there is something waiting for me in those inboxes. I just don't know what kind of subject line to look for.
Thanks, I can't wait to get started, and glad you are all here fro advice. |

Hi bobabooey and welcome to the Eater.
Many of the scam emails you have will contain very generic subject lines, like "help" or "urgent" or "attn winner". You will quickly spot them if you start to take a look at the ones you have, but I advise against clicking on any attachments or links. Start with the most recent ones - the older emails will be stale and probably have dead lad email addresses.
If you want to email lads without your IP showing, don't use Yahoo. Try hushmail, fastmail or Gmail. We have a mentor scheme here, so if you would like one-to-one assistance with getting started, please sign up here:

You came to the right place, bobabooey.
There is a surplus forum right HERE where you can post your scam intro letters, and they'll be appreciated by the members.
What to look for? Anything containing the following words: Urgent, confidential, beneficiary, inheritance, foreign remittance, or millions. You'll want to include the full headers when posting them in the forum (ask for help if you need it), and it's always good to title the thread with what "flavour" of scam it is like next of kin, dying widow, etc. If you've got a safe addy already set up, respond to a few letters and see where it takes you.
Remember to read the safes, bait sticky, sign up for a mentor and have some fun. Welcome to the Eater! |

Welcome to Eater, bobabooey.
The letters that are in the Surplus Letters forum will also give you an idea of what scam letters look like, and what they say. |
