Just mention the problem with your ID in that message. Make the Lad work for every pitfall you dig for him.

Billy --- looks like a good start here. I would suggest slowing things down and getting him off script.

You can just ignore the intial request for you passport and phone. Dumb lad is on script and might not have even been reading your intial replies. You can of course ask him what is the best way to scan it (along with other assorted computer questions). Also, ask them one at a time, lads love that Very Happy You can also ask him questions about the fund, the pro's and con's of traveling to SA to claim it in person, etc. etc.

One trick I have had some success with is telling lads you are skeptical, since you have already paid a number of fees to claim your fund in Africa.
This will make him think you are an easy mark, plus allow you to request documentation from him. Very Happy

Although I've had many of these scam emails, I've only ever either reported them or deleted them, I wish I'd kept them now, as I've had some real corkers, unfortunately I've only just got to know about this forum from some friends of mine from another forum I'm a member of, & who have had a lot of fun themselves.

John, do you read messages properly or do you just ignore them? I have already told you that I cannot get my hands on the money that my sister left me, I also asked you if you could think of anything else I can do to enable me to pay this postage.

You're probanly unable to do it but, is there any way that you can take the money from the money you are holding for me?

The fund has been insured against any deduction. If it is possible, I would ve done that ealier but it is not.
So I advise you still send for the courier service urgenty before you can get your fund.

Try Asking for the information of the courier service, and remember, as a Nun you have no idea what a Money Gram is or who is Western Union.
Perhaps introduce your solicitor that does have access to a bank account and request an account that the money can be wired to, which of course by time the solicitor gets around to sending the money, will be having issues. You could prolly drag this out another couple weeks if the lad doesn't give up in disgust...

You could also use "We love because he first loved us." Which is John 4:19, but I doubt he would make the connection without the numbers

What this bait needs is a dollar chop... someone writes to you, claiming to be a representative of CFC, explaining that Mr Mark has been taken ill and you need to send the money to his secretary. Mirabile dictu, the money is available (just enough to cover the fee), and you sent it!

At least, that's what you tell Mr Mark when you send him an email to wish him well in his recovery...

He told that I I need to send the money to your secretary. The amount he told me you needed, was in fact available, which was apparently just enough to cover the fee, so I have sent it! He said you knew about this, because you told him to ask me for it.

I was sorry to hear from your colleague Mr Soludo that you were taken ill and rushed to the hospital for emergency proctorootery. However Mr Soludo was able to help me make the payment and for a lesser amount too. This i sent to him yesterday via Western Union.

I do hope your lobotomy surgery went well, myself and all the fellow nuns will be praying for your speedy recovery. In the meantime do not stress yourself with our transaction as Mr Soludo appears more than capable of handling everything in your absence, I am glad that you have such helpful assistants.
