Does this ever happen? Does baiters ever bait baiters for fun? I am always curious when I bait a Gmail account.

HUH? Seems rather counter productive to me. Baiters try to tie up scammer's time, not each other's time. (That is what General Chat is for.)

I respect my fellow baiters too much to waste their time. This is true whether they are new to baiting or old pros.

This brings up the whole badger legend again. Longer time members get tired of hearing about it.

This is frowned upon and is dealt with. One of the few ways to get banned from eater. It has happened twice. The original one from eater had the user name 'badger' hence the name. The second time with some one else we retaliated. He came back to beg us to stop messing with his life. He thought it was fun until then.

So now whenever a noob gets a response he doesn't expect, he believes it is a badger. He is always wrong.

Other people are allowed to use Gmail besides baiters.

Gmail is becoming more and more common with the lads, some understand IPs but i think most just find it a convenient email providor as it is free and easy to set up.

A true baiter is a much different species to the bad ger, the badger is little more than a troll with fur who wastes baiters time while a baiter's primary goal is to tie up as much scammer time as possible.

Badgers also have a much shorter life span than baiters so there are some differences Wink

Look at some of the very first pages in the eater help section, pages 556-559, or somewhere around there. Almost every thread was "Is this a badger?"

edit: nope it wasnt freddy. It was the guy who made up his own god and wanted baiter spam into his email.

Although a lot of people say that bAdgering is a rarity, it does exist.

Take this example, where I myself have been playing around with YW, JoJo and Prof.

It was pretty easy for me to convince them that I had travelled to Chad. The hard part was keeping them busy - they have such short attention spans and keep wandering off looking at unhetero porn. Sad

What would be the point? Baiters have a job to do and that job is to keep lads away from real victims.

What would the goal to accomplish be? Surely we baiters have better things to do than harass each other, and that is exactly what BADgering is. Only jerks (to keep it clean) do garbage like that.

It happens once in awhile. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and others have all been used by BADgers, so don't get paranoid about being baited by a baiter. Lads use gmail too. Very Happy

@h.buttox: I complain at lads who use gmail, but not because of the b**ger issue - I want to see the lads' headers! So if they start using gmail, I start pretending to miss some of their messages and eventually suggest they use good old Yahoo which is the most dependable mail service on the planet Smile

"Baiter-baiting", though it may exist, is practiced by so few people that the time spent discussing it is orders of magnitude greater than the time wasted by the practice itself.

[I do have to admit that many of my early posts here and elsewhere were on this very topic - but to my knowledge I have never actually been b**gered]

There are terms for idiots like that, such as BADger.
