Happy day for me.
Since I didn't have to go into work in the morning, I spent 2 hours at the local flea market, looking at books.

There are 2 finds I made.
A first edition of "From the Eye of the Storm", with original dust jacket, worth $15 - $25 USD

The second find was a first printing of "Savrola, a Tail of the Revolution in Laurania" , which is Winston Churchill's only attempt at a full-length work of fiction.

Valued at between $70 - $90 USD

My advice is of you have flea markets in your area, go out and have some fun, and maybe you'll find some gems buried in all the junk Wink

Edit: I was pricing Savrola incorrectly, the version I have it the first American printing by Random House, not the British version.

Flea markets are definitely awesome places to find all sorts of interesting things. I picked up an old Alfred Hitchcock anthology a couple of weekends ago. Nothing overly valuable, except to me because I really like that sort of thing. Smile

I have found some things that I had been looking for or wanting for a long time, and some very unusual or unique items. I enjoy flea markets too. Very Happy

I regularly trawl through second-hand bookshops and I've found some gems - my favourite is an original 1915 edition of Arthur Machen's The Bowmen and other stories of the Great War. For those who don't know - this tale of the supernatural deliverance of the British Expeditionary Force at Mons in 1914 kick-started one of the war's most durable legends, the Angels of Mons. This edition includes Machen's essay on the nature of evidence and the mutation of stories.

Yup, except no cars (maybe parts of cars) and the boots are used! Very Happy

Okay, bad attempt at humour*. Wink

Did spelling humor correctly help?

Bunch of folks get together in 1 area, set up tables, and sell random items. ( sort of like a giant yard sale )

It's a pretty fun time, and for collectors, a nice place to find unusual things.

I love flea markets, I once found a McCulloch centrifugal supercharger from a studebaker golden hawk and got it for 50 bucks, it was worth about 3000 the guy thought it was some kind of water pump for a farm irragation system.
*Edit* I forgot a word.

I love car boot sales. I remember the day a few years back when I picked up a bunch of original Star Wars figures, boxed, for £1 each. I certainly didn't alert the seller to their actual value.

The only boot sales around my way are mainly boxes filled with old Carpenters and Bay City Rollers albums.

If anyone is looking for The Best of Baccara. I know where you can get it for £1.50 But you'd better hurry. Wink
