Here's a quick update for those that may be interested. I'm writing this using Firefox and Mandriva Linux over my wireless connection. Everything else worked without having to tweak a thing. It took me less than 5 minutes from bootup to set it up with the correct screen resolution and get the wireless networking up and running. No need for ndiswrapper - it worked right out of the box. All I had to do was tell it to connect wirelessly, to use secure WEP and then type in the WEP number off my modem. I'll be wiping the recovery partition (I have it backed up to DVDs so it's safe) and then installing Linux to play with for a few weeks, probably before wiping Windows off it altogether.
