Well folks, what a great bunch. I've been reading for weeks joined today.
email set up, been signing guestbooks for an hour.
Wish me luck.
Is the mentor system still running?

Good to see you aboard Mr. Nobody! Pick up your eye-patch and parrot at the front desk (you did bring your pirate-boots, right?), hoist the mainsail, haul the anchor, stock the beer fridge and prepare to cast off. Arrrrrrrr!

You'll like it here. It's a friendly place (friendly dammit) where newcomers aren't bashed, where we help each other and generally have a pretty good time doing it. If I may, allow me to point out some things that might help you....

- Stickies really are your friend, even if some of them are a little dry.

- Mentors are free. It took me a year to get one, and it was the best thing ever.

- If there was a limit to the "newb" questions permitted, I'd have been thrown out many times over by now.

- Aside from the "thou shalt nots" in the stickies, there is no wrong way to bait your scammer.

- There are no failed baits. If your lad drops you after your 2nd e-mail to him, you still win because you wasted his time and resources. Lads only win if they get paid - anything else is a victory for the baiter!

So grab a lad or two, read the safes, bait sticky, get a mentor and have a good time. If questions pop up, go ahead and post them or even PM me if you want. Welcome to the Eater!

Never feel ashamed to ask questions or make comments; we're a community here, and as long as you keep the peace, you'll be fine. May you find a mentor soon - and some Lads to bait to hell and back.

Just remember to keep the learning curve gentle, and don't try to reach the heights of YeaWhatever (safaris), Strongside (Lad insults) or Gomer Pyle (dollar chops) too soon (and that's naming just a few of our high achievers along the way).

Thanks all, I have read and re read all tips. I have dipped my toe in the water. I have started a bait with what looks like the low level "help me move money".
However I have a long involved email from a woman, with the "dead child I now have cancer 6 months to live line" I have read shivers and others claiming they are the lowest form of scammer. Anyone want her?

As a side issue, I signed 8 guestbooks 24hrs later 15 scammers.

Thanks, I have worked out finding headers on my gmails now, so cancer woman is now up in surplus section with full return paths ect.

I also have a K7 phone number now. Hopefully I wil need it down the line Cool

Welcome to the monkey house, take your time, have fun, bait safe, and try all sorts of scams till you find one that appeals to your own sense of absurdity, then specialise.
