I made the mistake of asking him what VAT was Confused

Quote:
You can see below there that is been arrange how the money is going for each services so your package get to your hand safely because it is under the insurance policy and country policy that they must pay for each service and as you can see the mailing amount for the service, then for VAT is the sub-charges that is paid when you want to go and send the package to the receiver and is for country the courier company is resided at it is tax that the company pay to that country which they are located at thats why they have to include the VAT fees there.Because you are sending it out of the country,so Mr xxxxx as you can see i have explained what it means so can you now choose any of the courier service.VAT simply means.VALUE ADDED TAX

Ask him how tax adds to the value of a courier service. I like to learn.

Tell him that you have read that if you are out of the country and the goods are leaving the country there is no VAT.

^^I like this approach it should cause more lad pain and frustration (and he'll probably call you names). If he calls you name, whine that he isn't being nice and get an apology... By then you forgot what you were supposed to do. Twisted Evil

Edit spelling

Way back Mick Taylor got this demand from a Bank Lad:

Quote:
SO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE COURIER CHARGE AND VALUE ADDED TASK VAT)COURIER CHARGE:$350VALUE ADDED TASK(VAT):$1,750 (TOTAL AMOUNT TO BE PAID: $2,100)

So I queried:

Quote:
First order of business; what the bloody hell is a "Value Added Task"?

[Note that in Australia we pay GST, not VAT.]

The reply:

Quote:
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR MAIL, FIRST YOU SHOULD STOP INSULTING THIS OFFICE AND STOP ALL YOUR THIS DLOODY OF A THING ANT TIME YOU ARE SENDING MAILS TO THIS OFFICE BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS YOUR INSULT. SECONDLY, THIS OFFICE IS NOT IN POSITIN TO ANSWER ANY QUERY BY YOU BECAUSE WE WORK WITH INSTRUCTION AND EVEN IF WE WANT TO HELP YOU BY GIVING YOU DETAILS, NOT WITH THIS YOUR MANNER OF APPROACH; SO I ADVICE YOU TO GIVE YOUR QUESTION TO THE GOVERNOR HIMSELF
.

Fair enough - so I asked Chuckie S0lud0:

Quote:
Your Mr Udunongaccountant is a prize dickhead. First he sends me a useless cheque sample, and then he asks for a payment including a "Value Added Task" – whatever the bloody hell that is

["Mr Udunongaccountant" is how his name turned up thanx to dodgy formatting - and he never called me on it.]

After ignoring my question for a while, Chuckie finally told Mick:

Quote:
THAT IS THE (VAT) AND THE COURIER SERVICE CHARDGE THEN YOU GET YOUR MONEY AS SIMPLE AS. I HAVE HOWEVER, DONE MY BEST FOR YOU, I PERSONALY HANDLE THE POWER OF ATTORNEY MYSELF BECAUSE I ASKED MY LAWYER TO SIGN EVERY DOCUMENT ON YOUR BEHALF TO SEE THAT YOU DON'T SPEND FOR THAT BECAUSE THEY WUOLD HAVE ASK YOU TO PROVIDE A LAWYER WHO WILL SIGN FOR YOU. YOU ASK ABOUT (VAT) IN YOUR COUNTRY I BELIEVE YOU PAY YOUR TASK AND EVEN IF IT IS NOT A TRADITION IN YOUR COUNTRY, OUR GOVERNMENT APPLIED IT HERE.

Confused

Quote:
You still haven't explained what a Value Added Task is; you tell me that I pay my tasks. What the hell are you talking about? Is this some banker jargon?

Quote:
I TOLD YOU THAT VALUE ADDED TASKL IS A SYSTEM OF TASK WE OPERATE IN MY COUNTRY ADOPTED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND EVERY BOBY PAYS IT EVEN IN OUR ELECTRICITY BILLS, WE PAY (VAT). I GUES YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME BETTER NOW.

I guess I shouldn't have done this...

Quote:
I just realised what you and that Udunongaccountant twat meant by "Task". Bloody TAX! You pair of drongos!

I've been thinking about this VAT and I think that we need to get Barristers to charge a Service Added Tax (SAT). It sounds much more professional than a VAT.

To me it works because the Barr is providing a Service, not a Value. Might help some victims pause before sending money. Cool

That's a good explanation you got Doodlebug. Last time I asked a lad that exact question, he replied with something like "it is part of the amount you need to pay" and then reiterated the total amount and how much of a hurry he was in. At least you got some corporate-sounding BS out of this one!

If you want to keep him on that topic for a while, you might ask him how the hell an extra tax adds value to whatever you're paying for. Come to think of it, I've wanted to ask that in reality land!
