If you can borrow or hire a digital video recorder and a camera with infrared you might be able to establish exactly what is happening. I have the gear but being half a planet away isn't much help.
There is lots of cheap options for cameras and recorders out there these days.

2, Hire local children for pick up and bagging duties at your backyard gold mine.

3, Sell nuggets in little designer bags. Che trendy.

4, Throw boiled chicken water in own back yard to replenish supply.

Thanks for all the suggestions, even the weird ones. I am going to get one of those ultrasonic things.

In answer to a couple of questions, no I haven't seen any foxes around, or any evidence of them, i.e. no bags being ripped etc. The poo I examined didn't have much sign of hair or berries - but then again I'm no expert on poo...

If it is someone then maybe the ultrasonic whatsit will keep them off too...

sounds like the fox might be passing through or has now taken over this new territory of his.he might be scenting his new 'turf' and thats when you fun will start.

i need to know if you are rural or town as it might help with the problem.
