A short while after I started baiting vlads, I started getting messages from lady7dates.com, telling me that a multitude of ladies have been sending me messages (and that I have a profile there, apparently). Is this ordinary spam, or are there actual vlads waiting in the wings for me? I suspect the former, but it can't hurt to ask. |

Dating sites, especially the ones that don't mind having hundreds of vlads on their books, do share information, so I'm willing to bet your address has been passed on to another unscrupulous site. That's one possibility, but of course Wayne, Murray, Tasman etc know the romance arena better than I ever could, so hopefully one of the regulars will have a more definitive answer. |

I can't find anything at all about lady7dates on Google. Can you recheck it for us? |

Here's the full text of one of the emails:
I have not actually clicked on the links, in case they have viruses or spyware or something. |

I'm also having no luck searching for lady7dates, or even ladydates.
I think you were right to excercise such caution, I'd bet on it being a virus link. As I said earlier, vlad sites can be unscrupulous... maybe they sold your address as a going concern to a phisher or someone looking to infect you with something like a keylogger. |

Ok, looking at the email, it looks more like your details have been passed on from one unscrupilous dating site you joined to another. I've had that happen a few times. The suggestion someone has written to you on that site is usually a good indicator.
Links Here
and here
It's worth Googling 7-dates.com as well to see just how many sites are linked to it or have uncannily similar names. |

They sell your details, some steal profiles, and many sites have numerous sister sites that automatically you are signed up for.
You sign up at free site 'a', and paid sites 'b through z' start contacting you with crap.
That email looks more like spam to me. Like the crap you see in banner ads 'You have 4 new emails' or '17 women are waiting for you' when you are on any dating site....
'you may already be a wiener'
'punch the monkey and win a million dollars'.
