I got an email from my friend and on opening it I saw it was a SPAM and it had been sent to all on her hotmail address book.
She has changed her password and yet we still get emails selling us electronics. What can she do about it or is the damage now done as they are spoofing?
Edit - changed title to make it clear I don't want advice on how to hack... |

She may have picked up a trojan horse. Have her run malware and antivirus scans on her pc. |

First question is - anti-virus up to date?
get and run ccleaner, that might help.
Second question - Firewall active?
Make sure anti-virus is up to date and run it in safe mode, read up on how to knock out the 'restore' function if they are running Windows.
Have a look at the 'Stinger' software, that might get rid of some nasties.
I would suspect in the first instance that the pc is infected with some malware, second is that the address has been spoofed by a lad (doesn't really sound like this)
You'll be looking forward to hours of fun chasing the bad guys through the computer.
Let us know what you find. Might help someone else from falling into the same trap. |

First - have her go to ANOTHER computer, and change her password. Then - DON'T LOG BACK IN FROM HER COMPUTER until she has thoroughly cleaned it. |
