So a week or so ago I get one in my catcher account indicating that this lad has $8M of pocket money he intends to distribute to the poor. He needs my help and has offered me a piece of the pie:
have set aside 20% for you for your time and patience.

Well, no way I'm gonna work for a measly $1.6M, so I shoot him back a quick email:
I would be happy to discuss this business with you, but will not consider moving forward for the 20% commission you suggested. A 50/50 split would me more appropriate.

So then the lad starts to negotiate:
I have discussed with my attorney and he is suggesting we do it 60/40% .You are to take 30% for yourself after the transaction, while he the attorney takes 10%.

Being a savvy businessman I hold firm:
Sorry, Given the possible tax implications I will hold firm with a 50/50 split.

The lad gets back to me with an email entitled "Please accept 40% and writes:
, i have informed my attorney of your request and he has obliged but on the condition that he will be getting 10% out of the 50% you are asking for. Please i will implore you accept the 40% while the other 50%goes to the less previldged.

I am a rock and send him back an email:
Sorry we could not be of common mind on this issue but I cannot accept anything less than 50% for my efforts. Good luck in your endeavors,

He finally caves:
You have your way but, you must see to it that the balance of 40% goes to the less priviledge as agreed

This really amuses me, negotiating over money that really does not exist, but I got him to waste his time event before the games begin Wink

This is a very good tactic for adding some time to the bait. Thumbs up

And, if you don't use it at this stage, you can always change your mind later about how much you want. The time to do that is when you're getting ready to make that WU payment, and then all of a sudden have the idea come to you that you want a bigger cut.

Here's a suggestion. Once they're ready for that WU payment, pick a fight with the attorney. Have some sort of spat develop. Then insist to the first lad that you want the attorney fired, and a new one brought in.
