I'm a yank, but I just read an article about the new coinage coming out this summer in the UK and I'm very impressed.

I wish our American mint would take a fresh look at coinage and drop the dead president motif that has ruled since the 1930s. Wink

Personally, I don't see what's wrong with the Euro like the rest of the EU are using. <runs for cover reminiscing of the pre-decimal days when farthings could buy you a good night out and a fish supper afterwards> Laughing

You should have your lads send you PHOTO samples of coinage from around the globe, after all the only real way to compare coins is to see what else is on offer.

IMPORTANT: BY SEND SAMPLES I MEAN PHOTOS OF THEM!

Just to be clear were talking pictures, not something else.

I have only seen images of the new coins, i havent been handed any new ones back in change yet, but yea mixed reaction, it takes some getting used to - i feel sorry for those who went thru decimal - least our coins stay the same(ish)

Was out last night and my friend got change of a fiver with a �2 coin that looked just like a big �1 coin. I'd never seen it before. Anyone else seen these? I thought it was a dud, but apparently it isn't.

These new ones do seem a bit too trendy for me, but i don't think i care too much.

I have to say I like them-amongst other things,I collect medieval coins.Always liked the way the British coins looked,and in some ways this harks back to them.
