Still waiting on biopsy results, could be the end of the week ,dont get me started on NHS cutbacks, I know for a fact how the lab staff have been culled
Hopefully from tonight mum will have an antiemetic in with her morphine, the nausea is really bringing her down.
Its so sad to see such a bright person turn into an old woman in the space of a few days. Even when her symptoms started mum had taken on a few hours work ( she proof reads medical texts ) but now ...

One good thing I suppose is that apart from the extortion racket that is car parking at the hospital its not costing us. Thanks to the NHS all her treatment , drugs, physiotherapy, CTscans, X rays, lab tests, nursing , food etc etc are free, paid for through National Insurance.

Its the worst news.
Aggressive, inoperable cancer
Radio and chemotherapy ruled out
I can see a deteriation in her condition over the last couple of days.
Mum is being moved to a Marie Curie Hospice tommorrow
She should get the pain control and nursing care she needs there.
The visiting hours are more flexible than hospital, they also offer alternative therapies to make things a bit more confortable.

Mum died about 5 this afternoon.
The hospice were wonderful. They got her pain sorted and a lovely room.
We took in pictures of the grandchildren and her cat.
She was settled and was sleeping so we left.
Half an hour later she slipped away.

Geez, I am really sorry to hear that. I know that the coming days will be tough. I hope that you will find some peace in the knowledge that she is in a better place and that one day, you will see her again.

Mom's still with us, but a little more sleepy and forgetful every time we visit.

Knowing others are thinking of us has helped
Its been a time of real ups and downs
My sister and I have been going through mums stuff, feeling like naughty girls sneaking in. So far we havent found a will, which would make it so much easier.
We have found lists of instructions and are going to respect her wishes in that respect- nagged from beyond the grave!
Its the wee things, like finding out mum had kept all the postcards we'd sent, the silly birthday cards, the odd picture or painting her grandchildren had made

I'm really proud of my kids who have cried , hugged and laughed with us and each other all through this sad time.
They've made me so proud

The other really wonderful people were the staff at the Marie Curie Hospice.

All kinds of emotions will be running through your head right now, grief, anger, disbelief ..

My condolences on your loss. It's a hard thing to endure, and the necessary sorting through of the estate is a difficult experience, as you've already discovered. But I trust you'll find that the process can have some sweet moments as you uncover reminders of happy times, little things that may have been forgotten over the years but which can be evoked by the smallest of mementos. Those are to be cherished. Our loved ones live on through our memories.

I had to pull the plug on my Mom,her expressed wishes-thanks to lawyers,I had to wade through wave of crap to do it.She is at peace,treasure your time together.You will likely set a place at a holiday table for her,-go ahead and do it.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support and the pms.
Mums funeral was today.
Quiet, dignified, no priest or minister. Immediate family only.
Exactly as she wanted.

My sister and I are going on holday together later this year, mum was nagging us to book it while she was in hospital so
We've decided mums ashes are coming too.
The Funeral Director is going to give us a letter so's we dont get caught up at security/customs.
