A cleaning lady has been coming to my house twice a month for 10 years. I just give it a skip and a hop in between, which is easy.

Two months ago she hurt her back and not been able to work. Sad

She had a MRI and waiting for results.

I am killing myself trying to do what she does to these 50 year old hardwood floors. I have been on my hands and knees cleaning them. She kept them waxed and that's why they looked good. If she doesn't come back, we will move out and have them sanded. We are not happy with this thought, but I'm not doing this shit ever again. Mad

We are going to have a professional come and see if taking the wax off and a coat of polyurethane would do the trick. Would have to move out either way! Mad

Enough of my rant and back to Callum's buns. Wink

I have a lot of walnut flooring and it's a breeze to keep clean if you don't use wax.

My floors have a mat polyurethane on them.....just keep them free of dust with a cloth mop and then once a week go over them with a damp sponge mop. I have no carpeting just rugs.....and have 3,000 square feet of wood and 500 of tumbled marble....loads of floor space to clean. Laughing

My floors are 5 years old.

I'd go with the refinishing if I were you as it certainly would make it a lot easier.
