Hi Everyone, I have been reading this site all night (insomnia) and I have to say it is the most entertaining thing I have seen in a long time.
Perhaps one or two of you coud give me some info on the University of Nigeria (Jos). Is it what it appears to be, a scammers uni? is there a real Uni of Nigeria? Should I be suspicious of someone who claims a Bsc. in Business studies from there?
Thanks for any nuggets of info you can pass on. |

Thanks for that newdonym, this guy's CV specifically says his Bsc came from the University of Jos, I believe that's one of the scam names in the sidebar.
It doesn't look like the real Uni. has a campus in Jos!
Any info would be great since this guy is trying to scam me through the Brit. court system.
Long story short, he bought a business, deliberately ruined it, claiming mispresentation. |

You think someone is trying to scam you? If you can visit ScamWarners - see below in my signature line for the address - post the details, and an experienced member there will be able and willing to help you out.
To be honest, this sounds like you need a bit more expertise in terms of advice provided than I could possibly provide. I think that you had best go over there to ScamWarners. |

wow, ditto.
defiantly ask at scam warners.
You may want to ask the real uni by email if he is one of their alumni.
Might provide quick evidence against him. |

Asking the real uni does not actually mean anything as the lad names are common and might actually be of a real alumni. If some one is chasing you through the courts and legal system, then you need better advice than can be provided here. No disrespect to anyone who is a member of Eater, far from it, but I find some circumstances are a bit out of our experience. |

Thanks Guys
Don't worry on my behalf, I'm pretty well grown up now (65) and I've seen off worse than this. I'm not daft and I have top commercial lawyers dealing with it. They swear he has no case since when he bought the business he buggered off to Nigeria and allowed it to collapse, meaning no rent for me and a forfeiture for him. Then he claims misrep. open and shut you might think. It still has to be defended or I lose by default. The only reason I am asking about the University is that I would love to catch him out in a 'big lie' from when we first met, I got hold of his CV by viewing the computer that he left in the business, he does not know I have it yet. I am waiting for the almost inevitable offer to accept a settlement (which he won't get) and then I will know for sure he is a pro at this.
Do you know of any similar situations you can point me to?
Thanks again |

Hi atj
I'm really interested in the outcome on this. As it's a bit outside of a normal 419 scam I'd be happy to follow it by PM or maybe ask a mod to put this in the non 419 scams and keep us all up to date. |

I'll be happy to keep you updated on it, although it may be a few months yet in coming to a conclusion, I'm still very new on this forum and I have not yet found my way around, I certainly don't understand all the trophy emblems yet,if moderator wants to move this into a more suitable topic line that's fine, 'cos I don't know how to! Meanwhile keep up the good work chaps and chapesses. I will do a bit more excavation into your devious ways before I attempt to emulate you. |
