How do I insert a picture into a reply on this forum

Having just received a really generous parcel from Retrob8 as the winning bidder in the auction for his 419 eater van I would like to post a picture of all he sent - how do I do this?

I have the picture saved on my computer but need help inserting into the message

How to post a picture:

To post pictures here you will need to upload them onto webspace that allows you to direct link to them. Most free providers, such as Geocities, Tripod, etc, don't allow this, so you will need to open a free account with a place like these:

Photobucket or Iownjoo

Once you have the URL from your host you will need to enlose it in the [img] tags in order to post it here.

This is how you do that:

[img] your URL goes here [/img]

Open an account at photobucket. Upload the picture. Copy out the image link and paste it into the reply.

Note that free photobucket accounts are either all private or all public. The default is public. So given a link to one photo someone can browse your entire album. If the account is private then they need to know the name of a picture to view it.

Edit: Helpful replies are like buses; you wait sixteen minutes for one and then three turn up together.

Sign up at http://photobucket.com/ and upload your image there.

Copy and paste the url of that image into your posting.

Hi!

You have to host the photo at a photo hosting site, such as this one:
http://imageshack.us/

Once the photo is saved there, copy the URL link and put it in your post, in between these brackets of code [img] [/img]

You first need to upload the picture to the web.
Try going to www.photobucket.com and then opening a free account there. Make sure you use an anonymous name and don't put personal stuff up there that can be traced to your R/L as anyone will be able to access the page where you keep your photos.

When you've opened the account, follow the instructions and upload your photo. Then come back here with the IMG (clicking on it copies it) and paste that to the forum.

The code should look something like this [img]www.photobucket.com/maggie/photo[/img]

Then hit preview to see if your photo has worked. If it has, just hit the reply button.

^^ No, I've just tried it. I can log out and still access (through a direct URL) anything in my Eater webspace. Try it! Log out of Eater totally and use this link:

Thank you all for the advice - I have now posted the picture on general chat under 419 eater van auction thread.
