This isn't baitable, hence why I post it in General chat. Mods, move it to somewhere more suitable as you see fit.

But does anyone have any knowledge of this sort of "scheme"? It seems to be some sort of pyramid selling, book selling thing.

There are many sites that claim to be the original "Rich jerk" so I've not included a link, just google to see what I mean. I've seen many an advert, and they all seem to be selling an ebook telling you how to get rich quick.

They start with an introduction by someone obnoxious, telling you how he drives a Ferrari, and that you probably look at him like he is some sort of tw*t, but that he doesn't care as he is richer than you.

So how does this sort of thing work? Does he just make money from people buying his ebook? What "smart" advice does this ebook contain?

This goes back to magazines in the 70's, exactly the same but obviously in them days they were in the back pages of Womans Own and other weekly's, everyone pays 20 quid for the secret, the secret is a bunch of arse but no one will send the info back or demand their money back just in case, a clever variation of this is the dildo scam but i won't go into the details today Wink

It is also the electronic version of the 80's and 90's snail mail chain letter that said the same thing, and said to order his "report."

Yep. Just a variation of the 3 O'Clock commercials you see, telling you how you can get rich. Dupree is one that springs to mind.
