This is the car I drive (not my car in the pic).

The greatest little car ever. I will have it until I die or it's written off (both if they happen at the same time)

I know it's no Jag, Audi or BMW but I love it.

There did seem to be a lot of clothing on the fence at the layby though.

1985 Maserati Biturbo. Got it for a thousand bucks from some guy's wife while the guy was out of town. Very fun to drive, gets about 10 miles to the gallon though. It's unfortunately broken at the moment and I haven't gotten around to fixing it, so in the meantime...

1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais. Reliable, has enough power to get through traffic, gets from point A to point B, still not so good on gas though.

ive always wanted to get a biturbo but trying to get parts for them is borderline imposible

I drive 4x4 Toyota Hilux double cabs, a 1996 with 200,000 miles on it (ugly but drives wonderfully) and a 2002, pretty and reliable. I have no pictures of them.....

The 96 has a solid front axle (better) and the 2002 has torsion bars.

For the Americans here, they are like a Toyota Tacoma with a smallish 4 cylinder diesel that can drive just about anywhere, but have a top speed of 72mph. Totally dependable. The Taliban used them...

In the UK diesel sells at ~$10 a gallon.

Diesel down here in Midland is running about 3.89 or so... gas is runnin about 3.25 last i checked, and supposed to get to around 3.50 by next Friday.... stupid refinery explosion in Big Spring... at least my baby gets about 17 hwy... not bad fer a 13 yr old 1/2 ton with 323000 miles on in, original tranny and everything, thank ya very much lol

It's not impossible, just expensive. MIE has almost everything in stock, but it ain't cheap - a new water pump was $300, including a $75 refundable core deposit. Compare that to $30 to $70 for an ordinary, off-the-shelf water pump.

Evil black eyebrowed bast*rd has just clobbered most of us Brits with huge rises in Road Tax in the interests of saving the planet - by moving the cutoff date for grading cars by their CO2 emissions back to 2001, next year the annual road tax on my Jag doubles from �205 to �410.

If I've got to pay that much, f*ck it, I'm going to buy a 4 litre V8. The bottom just fell out of the 2nd hand large car market - I get less for mine, but can get a bargain on my next Jag, with leather seats and all. They drink petrol, but what the hell, I work from home.

Result, Mr Darling.
