Just an update on how to handle these and would be good info for scamwarners. Local police will take the information but there is no crime committed at the point the victim gets the letter. They do not have any power regarding postal issuses unless its a threat. The minute the illegal check is cashed is when the problems begin for the victim. We all know this. I took the letter to the post office and they gladly accept them. The postal manager stated they build up as much information as they can and go after the mail fraudsters and scammers. So best advice is to tell anyone who gets one of these letters take it to the post office.
