The Reverend Dang0te Smith has kindly agreed to say a prayer for my poor, sick mother:

Quote:

O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: I humbly beseech thee to behold, visit and relieve thy sick servant who is like a mother to us, divine Physician and Healer of the Sick, our mother turn to You in this time of illness. 0 dearest Comforter of the Troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant her the grace and strength to accept this burden for which our prayers are desired.

our sister in the lord place her worries in Your hands. She places her sick mother under your care and humbly ask
that You restore her to health again. Above all, grant her the grace to acknowledge Your holy name, O Lord, under all his
pains and infirmities; perfect her repentance; increase and strengthen her faith; incite her obedience; and expand her
charity. Lay no more sickness upon her than you wilt enable her to bear, and with the temptations that you permit to assail
her,according to Your promise, provide her internal life and Look upon her with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort her with a sense of thy goodness; preserve her from the temptations of the enemy; and give her patience under her affliction.

In thy good time, restore her to health, and enable her to lead the residue of her life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally she may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I'm Jewish, so I wouldn't know, but is this a pre-existing Christian prayer? It doesn't look like something Revernd D would write on his own. If that's the case, I cannot accept it as I am a devout Leeguist, and Leegu is a jealous God.

Yah, it's from the Anglican/Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, more or less. I always liked the "residue of her life" part.
