Ok, not much of a guess I uh - guess. 
Taking Internet Programming (php & sql) and Database Mangement. Hoping to make my sites operate a lot better and create a few more with my honed knowledge. Plus I figure I can use a site as a project, so two birds w/ 1 stone! And lucky me, work pays for it! So does this technically mean I'm getting paid to bait????  |

KD is obsessed with me lately, , , because I knew grammer welll.
I'm self-taught on php & mysql, I usually look at old coding and figure out how to make new coding that would go well with a website/page I'm trying to create. I couldn't stand schooling in computers other than walking away with a degree to get a job in the field.
The only language that confuses me instantly is javascript, some night I'll have to buckle down and get to know it a bit better even though it's nearly out of existence. |

Well, have fun going back to school.
One big hint for PHP-coding: Check out the documentation on php.net frequently. It actually contains everything you need to know when you want to do something.
But beware, not all functions are available everywhere, and there are settings that allow unportable/bad/dangerous code.
@Radden:
I also learned PHP by myself, and now earn my money with it.
Also I never liked any classes about computer-stuff, my teachers usually didn't know much of what they were talking about... 
By the way, with AJAX being the big hit now JavaScript is far from dead, although I wish it would be... |

@Radden - just sit down and mess with java script some. It will start to make sense. It is just a hodge podge of C++, a little QBasic, and some new stuff. It isn't too hard to learn especially if you have done anything with C++ or Visual C++. |

i'm going back to school in 2 weeks also. My motivation is to get out of this dead end job but if it wasn't for this job i would have never found out about baiting or this board. guess it's good for something! |

Indeed, when you're self-taught, sitting through a lesson where someone makes a half-arsed attempt to teach the subject can be embarassing... |

I'm not too familiar with C++ although I've tried to learn it in the past to see if I could make an application, but failed horribly . I know very little with visual basics but I have plenty of things to learn about coding different languages.. Although php has been by far the most fun to play with. |
