Firstly, big thanks to llamados for sending me my latest batch of cheques from the UK drop box.
Along with the cheques is a letter from US Customs and Border Protection (Port of Cleveland, Ohio) to my baiting name informing me that they have seized my check for $69,950.45 as it is counterfeit.  Violation of Title 19, US Code, Section 1595a(c) and Title 18, US Code, Section 513. That might come in useful next time your lad asks if you received the check.
Apparently, I can appeal against the decision, but I think I'll pass on that. Anybody else ever received anything similar? |

I have recently lost about 10 cheques sent to a dropbox in the USA. All intercepted by the United states Postal service and UPS!
Still, on the upside Sheboppe did send me 20 cheques totalling $1.25m!! |

Cool. Don't bother appealing. We're baiting to waste the scammers' time, not the government's. (Today's bureaucracy does that for us.) |

I think I'd think about trying to write a letter of explanation and an offer to provide email evidence, and send it to the address listed for appeals. But I'd also be a little hesitant to do so... 
Edited to clarify: I wouldn't appeal to get the checks. I'd write the letter only to provide them with *more* info to possibly net the scum. |

I've had some "interceptions" before and I'm sure I'll have more.
When that happens, I email the lad the cut & paste that I got off the UPS tracking website (or equivalent), and challenge him to look up the tracking number. They apologize, offer to send another, and then are never heard from again.
As for appealing the seizure, I wouldn't. That's evidence, and if they can use that to get a lad into the slammer then they can intercept more of mine as far as I'm concerned. |
