As my halo says, I'm new here but I have been lurking (and laughing) for a while.

I have to say that, with the exception of the links that no longer work, I actually think that having the forum away from the main site seems a better idea, as you only get here with a membership - must make the lads serching for tools, scams etc a lot harder.

The archive is still there to amuse the public, raise awareness of the scumbags and entice the moths like me, who dance around the flame that is Shiver (purple prose, eh? Shocked

), to become members and join in the fun.

Being hidden restricts the huge number of people who don't want to register but do want to be informed about scamming. Plus some people would be wary of registering to a forum where they don't know what's going on.
The more people who can see Eater, the better.

Bollocks to the odd lad who has the intelligence to use Google (not many). And even if he does, the Hints and Tips forum is behind a login. So if you're worried about a lad surfing in, either put any sensitive info in there or don't post it until your bait is finished. Wink

And since I've been getting dropped a lot even when I'm baiting perfectly straight, it seems to be working.

I also notice that everything seems to be back to normal for now since I see the regular URL in my browser. In the times I haven't been able to get onto Eater I've spent my time over on Scam Victims United and helped point out some scams over there. I've also seen several regular Eater posters doing the same. Looks like the lads didn't accomplish anything except spread the knowledge around. Thus their attack backfired. Don't you love when that happens. Laughing
