Basque is a language that is spoken in a corner of Spain, and it is (as far as anyone really knows) a total linguistic isolate, not being able to be accurately linked to any other known language (unless your name is Joseph Greenberg, or Merritt Ruhlen, or one of those chaps). There are some (crazy) historical linguists who claim that Basque and Ainu (a similar sort of linguistic isolate that existed on the islands of Japan) are related, but I mean... seriously... come on, get real.
It is highly probable that Basque is a survivor of one of the very ancient language families that was used widely in Europe before the Indo-European invasion about 5-6000 years ago.

I've noticed that the longer the attack lasts, and the more different hiding spots we have, the crew staying around and frequenting the fora becomes smaller and smaller.

Should we start an MIA thread and start trying to reach people again? Or should we wait until we're back "home". Previously the admins sent email invites to the email addy's people registered with. Has that happened again?
I was reading through old threads yesterday and noticed a LOT of members who aren't around now.

No. Don't tell anyone. It's so much better without them. Easier to moderate. Silly questions are almost gone. No trolls, mainly because they can't find us. Etc....

Wow, I finally found you all again. I sent an email to find out where you were and I had to fill out a 400 question form, pick up a package at WU and send a wire transfer to someone named shiver. Wasn't too bad though since the bus service between cities is pretty good. I'm new here so do you always check people out this way? Shocked

Seriously, because I'm a nerd or a bit compulsive. . . I just looked through the memberlist for a while (sorted by joined date, descending, so yes, newbs!) and made a list of a bunch of people who were around for a while, have over 50 posts and their last login date seems to coincide with the site going down. I can keep doing this and compile a list, post it and then admins or friends of missing members with email addy's can try to get some of the people back.
I know, it's nice to not have silly questions and ethics threads, but Eater needs $$ Wink
