Rugby? What in the heck is that? Is it anything like a quilting bee where old ladies get together and make a quilt? What do they do with the rugs when finished?

This is my attempt to ruin the All Blacks chances in the world cup by getting Jerry Collins munted.
(Well, England need all the help they can get!)

It's a game played by men with odd shaped balls. A bit like American football but with a lot less nancy padding and helmuts. <dons tinfoil hat and runs away and hides behind the big green sofa> |

And believe it or not the USA actually has a team at the World Cup.
They even ran England pretty close, not that that means anything. |

Watching England play rugby is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. There's much sweatyness and ball fumbling but the other guys turn out to be more skillfull and it ends in dissapointment. |

He was wonderful. I'd had a couple of wines and tequila and went up to him to ask him for a photo. He asked me what I was drinking, then went to the bar and bought us a couple of tequilas.
He was a lovely, lovely person and didn't seem to mind being harrassed by a wobbly English chick!
Go the All Blacks tonight!!! |

I'll bet no one here can type faster than Jerry Collins can blink though!
On a more serious note, I played rugby to a high level and it's really a brutal game in so many ways. Wade Dooley . . . well . . . |

Well played Portugal , they never gave up, pity the English couldn't show as much determination,
No shame to Portugal, they played their hearts out |

I was impressed with the fight Wales put up. They were up against a very strong side and gave a brave performance, they should be proud. |

I think now is a fair time to own up to being from the land of song.
A terrific rush defence employed by the Ozzies set up a strong platform for their superb backline. I'm fairly dissapointed but we have many young lads who will continue to develop and more importantly we are still in the tournament. (Boks next though OUCH!)
I am a celtic supporter who doesn't gloat at english misfortune so you can stand down the rear guard.
Oh and, nice to be back. |

Tonga 19, Samoa 15.
Well let's just say England will be very happy with that result, as if Samoa had won all their other games and then toppled England, the Poms could have been out of the tournament. I'm a bit gutted, though I can imagine a few sore bodies after this match.
All Blacks played pretty well, although it was a bit messy at times (early in each half). Hats off to Portugal who never gave up, and I loved how ecstatic they were after every point they scored. All Blacks just too strong and fast though, and wow did Jerry Collins play well, he has to be the best blindside flanker in the world. |

France demolish Namibia with a barnstorming Sebastian Chabal at the heart. He is some player and I for one am glad to see a Northern Hemisphere team back in it, albeit against slightly suspect opposition. I can't see them winning it but they will certainly give the sanza sides something else to ponder.
I'm not particularly a france fan but I love watching them when they play with that much flair. |

Not entirely unexpected, but it does show how interesting Pool D is. Ireland could well find themselves knocked out, if they don't markedly improve on how they played against Georgia. France could still win the pool if they hammer Ireland, who themselves beat Argentina. My pick is Argentina will beat Ireland though, and top Pool D. All Blacks will end up playing a QF against France in Cardiff.
....which is a scary thought. |

^^That could be one very interesting match. You can never write off the French and they could quite feasibly give the all blacks a nasty surprise. |

Would be a great game, but who would I support? I've been an All Blacks fan for as long as I can remember. But my great great grandmother was a Boer, and my father says he'll disown me if I don't support the Boks. Ooooh, the stress, the stress!!! |

I understand your dilemma well Hekate, my wife is Irish and I'm Welsh, we were interviewed for a radio show on the way to watch wales play ireland in 2005 (thats the year we won the grand slam, as if anyone forgot huh ), I think the Journalist new what I was in for.
She took it well on the day and then made me pay in that way that only women know how.
