I saw your aptment advertised on craigslist.com and

Hi, I received a similar inquiry from this email address about an apartment in Dallas. This Dr Belucci is willing to make a deposit of $2500 before he arrives in Dallas on 9/15. Is this a scam????

Yes.

They will send a fake check (cheque) and then ask you to cash it and send some money back to him by Western Union or Moneygram. Then the check (cheque) will bounce, you will be out of pocket and in trouble with your bank and possibly the law.

@ the OP. If you aren't already a premium member, sign up, get use of a drop box, get lots of lovely cheques ans repaper your house with them. It's a good thing to get them off the streets.
