Based on a few minutes of horror at nearly losing all my baiting mails because of TB update issues...

If you get an upgrade to Thunderbird to 2.0.0.5 and it hoses (as mine just did :shock) check if you have Logitech Quickcam running.

If you have, close it and redo the install and your baits will be back and your nads will drop back to their usual place Smile

... or, copy all your in- and outboxes to a safe directory before updating.

I do that anyway every few days, just to be safe.

I just *knew* someone would point that one out Smile

Fair cop but it is also the pain of setting up loads of accounts again unless there is a way to export and import an account set up in TB?

I assume you're using Windows. Just make a backup of C:\Documents and settings\Username\Application Data\Thunderbird, or something like that. It contains all of your TB settings, including accounts and messages.
(There should be a profiles.ini, a registry.dat(?) and one randomly named subdirectory for every profile on your computer.)

There's a neat little tool called MozBackup for all your Thunderbird and Firefox backups...profiles, settings, accounts, messages, folder structure...you name it.
