Haven't seen this around, so hopefully not a repeat.
Just clicked a link onto ebay and the item has become outdated, and they've posted a message warning people off WU and MG.
This is the link
If you don't get the same message / don't want to click it, it says:
Marketplace Safety Tip
Never pay for your eBay item using instant cash transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram or by recharging someone's prepaid credit card. These methods are not safe to pay people you do not know personally.
In addition, these payment methods are not eligible for the eBay buyer protection programs.
Not sure how many ebayers will see that, since it's a Marketplace tip, it might appear in emails.
In any case scammers may be a bit more wary of ebay baiters... or they might be more grateful if sellers are more wary.
Unfortunately they don't appear to explain why anywhere, perhaps they don't want to put people off selling, but still, it's something.

I would hope people would read and understand what is said by ebay. Seems that finding the message takes some work.
I have yet to run into the PP creditcard modality.
