Hi Everyone, I am fairly new to this, but I have been talking wtih a guy for several months now. And he has gotten money from me. He has given me his phone number which is from the UK. But the funny thing is he also has a phone number he had given me in the US too. And one he gave me from Nigeria when he was suppose to be down there in Lagos for his company. But I can still get a hold of him on the UK number. The other ones I can only leave messages. What is with that, but I have checked his email headers and they say the email is coming from Nigeria. I am not sure what to make of all this right now. Could someone please tell me how I would go about checking his phone numbers. |

Welcome to the Eater, Letmec. 
You can post the number here, or if you're shy about doing that, PM it to a mod. Please also post some brief details about how you came to pay him money, if you think it may be a scam.
Without the number, I don't know for sure, but the answer may be that it is a "follow me" number. If it starts 070 or +4470 then that is what it is. It looks like a UK number, but can be redirected to anywhere in the world, and the caller pays the cost of that.

No, the caller pays the cost of a call to the UK 07xxx number, typically 15p/minute from inside UK. The cost of forwarding, if applicable, is met by the called party, ie. the 'owner' of the number. However they are usually free to landlines so you're not racking up his bill by calling him. |
