Stupidest scammer ever?

I was selling a phone on eBay for �100 with �5 p&p. I did the usual no one under 1 rating could bid or no one with credit card info could bid and left it to it.

3 days left and it sells to a lady in London with a 100% feedback and 213 feedback score. Yay for about 2 seconds when I realise its more then likely been took over by a scammer. Any this lady from London Emailed me saying this

Instantly I knew it was a scammer. Ten minutes later I recieved a apparent email from Paypal saying a payment of �140 had been made and I am to ship goods. Thats �35 more then the asking price and the scammer used "buy it now". Now I dont use paypal and my listing said so. I then emailed the scammer back saying I dont use paypal and thought for a laugh I would ask for another means of payment.

While waiting for the reply eBay sent me this.

I then told the scammer I have confirmation the account was used fraudently and a hour Later I got this from him pretending to be eBay

I then tell him to stop with the attempts of scamming me as I dont have a paypal account and he sent to much anyway. No reply until today and I got this

Please send your communication to the abuse dept. for Paypal and ebay and give them all the details.

Like this you are on the safe side of the road and the scammer might be prosecuted as he gave a real shipping adress Wink

Don't trust eBay in any respect whatsoever in this respect - I have experience, and collectively with PayPal they managed to lose me �350 after I had been scammed. They are good to buyers, but not sellers.

I would like to throw my hat in the ring on this one, and I fully agree with Williamnorris. Ebay & Pay Pal are a pack of **. Firstly, I had my account with Ebay suspended once when a seller would not send me details. It took two months of grovelling to have it restored.
Baiters could learn a lot from Ebay! eg Name 1 emails you with promise of help. You respond, name 2 mails with same promise. Etc, etc, ad nauseum. After having dealt with at least 30 of these clones, someone finally concedes a mistake has been made.
On the two occasions I got scammed, it always took 6 - 8 months to get partially reimbursed, and it is a painful process.
Similarly Pay Pal gets compromised on a regular basis.
