Unexpected response from Lotto lad

Deirdre sent an ASEM to some Lotto Lads. It appears she won several lotteries on the same day.

have. I hope you will be kind enough to take me through the steps I need to
take to claim and collect my prize.
Would you please help me on this? I don't remember buying a ticket, but I
suppose I must have got one down at the soup kitchen. I'll have a good look
in my carry bag and see if I can find it.

Do you need to know anything else. My friend Elsie thinks the number has

Appears he has spotted your ASEM as being from an address he didn't send to.

Naaah - I think Afferbecklauder has just driven the Lad to the brink of insanity.

I think it's time for the little old lady to start a campaign of aggressive demands. Hell hath no fury like a little old lady deprived of her lottery winnings. Use his argument to irritate him. It was an e-mail lottery and you wouldn't know about it if he hadn't contacted you. Is he insane ? - make sure he will be soon.

This is the way they usually do it:
1.) They either buy or find a list of emails.
2.) They send someone on the list a email.
3.) Victim replies.
I guess this mugu has been baited before, and now he's resorted to searching his list for the email addresses before proceeding.
Not such a bad plan, really.

Poor Deirdre was having a problem with the fine detail from another lottery win on the same day. She emailed them :

I remember hearing about a product similar to that on the radio, except it was made by Hewlett-Packard (HP). But really, how much people really have one of those and not a computer? You could get a very web capable computer + monitor for less than $200 these days; I think the machine costed more than $200 too..

@lucky777 - I am in IT, you would be amazed at how many people think that the internet and email are not related in anyway. I have had someone ask what they should get if they want email but don't want to get on the internet. Now it sounds far fetched on here, but I could buy a little old lady saying that.

I fully concur with Great Ook, as I have a similar backgroud. As for a suggestion in an earlier thread that "tell them to set up a response of some sort", we are talking here about mainly senior people with no computer experience. and no understanding of technical solutions.
These people are totally vulnerable, and if scammed there is little or no likehood of that scam ever being reported to appropriate persons.

And I wouldn't limit it to just older people, anyone with little or no online experience & no tech knowledge might be persuaded.
