I think I sort of believed the ones about kidney harvesting, Nuesteder's cookies, and gang headlights when I first heard them - not that I took any action in response. Of course I've grown a lot more cynical.
A friend of my daughter swears that she can get $15/each for cancer victims by taking the pull tabs off pop cans. I cannot seem to talk her out of this. |

Most of these are pretty old. I propose we start some new ones:
1. Archeologists discover prehistoric carving resembling Commodore 64. Proof of visit from technologically-advanced but geeky aliens?
2. Apparent scam emails are really coded messages from the dead.
3. Well-meaning but naive internet user hospitalized for dehydration and wrist injury after attempting to forward hoax email to every possible email address. |

I've got the picture from #12 as wallpaper on my works PC - it's a shared comp so I'm not the one who stuck it there.
Quite a few colleagues (and yes, that includes me  ) have commented on how cool it looks. |

She doesn't understand simple economics, then? Try giving her a five and a pull-tab as change for a $20. See if she accepts it.
100 pull tabs might net you 3 cents. The semi-annoying bit is that Ronald McDonald House perpetuates this old saw by actually collecting tabs. They do explain the silliness of it on their website, though.
