I've posted the whole letter in surplus (ref: The Nerve Of This Mugu), but I've just gotta know. Do you think this lad might have falled for the bait more than once? Check out the list of questions in his reply script...
1 Which country are you originally from and were are you residing presently?
2 Do you think you are credible enough to handle this transaction and do
you think your bank account is also credible and functionally ready to
receive the funds when transferred into it?
3 What is your line of business/occupation and your position in the company?
4 Have you done this kind of transaction before?
5 Can you be able to invest these funds for us in a good venture, if yes
what kind of investment are you looking at? We have real estate and
investment in stocks in mind, is okay in our country?
6 Are you okay with the percentage offered to you in the proposal?
7 Will you be able to open a new account with bank of deposit here or the
transferring bank oversea with a certain amount of money to make it
credible and functionally ready to carry the whole amount at the same time
when the time for that comes?
8 Will be able to come down here to see us and discuss the transaction in
details and possibly sign all that needs signing if the need arises?
The moment I get answers and clarifications on the above and also your
assurance to do the transactions, then I will give to you also anything
you demand from me that is in line with his transaction? I do hope you
understand the reason why I have to ask for all these. The reason is that
my entire life depends on this funds and I do not want to enter into the
wrong hands so that I don�t regret it.
That does not mean that I don�t trust you, NO but I am trying to make sure that you are 100% capable to handle the transaction.
This mugu has either been baited before, or is just the most paranoid lad I've ever encountered. One way or the other, this one is gonna be fun! |

I've seen those before. Standard script stuff, nothing to worry about. It's just part of the whole "let's pretend we're serious and do not deal with everyone" plan.
Just go ahead and ignore it. Or better yet: act furiously and demand an explanation: "What? You don't trust me? Who are you not to trust me? You ask me to help you and then I get this third degree interogation?"

However, I would start haggling over your percentage - Question No.6 - then watch the lad get all huffy over your share of something that doesn't exist. 
In answer to your original question, it's just standard script trying to ascertain your interest/gullibility. |
