"Muh" (as in "cow") and "Goo" (as in Chinese food).

This is the confirmed pronounciation. I heard a scammer say it that way once, as many others here have.

The West African way would be "moo-goo", but in South Africa it's been slightly corrupted by the influence of the Afrikaans langauge (African Dutch) which makes the "G" sound is pronounced similarly to the "ch" in "Loch"

All the site references I've seen say it's a Nigerian slang worde, but I've heard it used in SA as long as I've can remember (so at least 30 years). Interestingly enough it's usually used by the white Afrikaaners as a quasi racial slur in the sense that it means "stupid black person".

If anybody has an SA lad and would like help with Afrikaans, Zulu or Xhosa I speak the former fluently and know enough of the other two to be insulting.
