Hello,

I am new to this forum, but I find it very entertaining. It has been a very long time since I have received any proposal of scam, but I know of a person who would fall for it if I would not warn him.

So here is the story:

I was working in Greece this summer and the boss of the place where I worked got an email from a scammer saying that he is running an travel agency somewhere in US and that he has a group of 30 tourists that would like to come to Greece.

Immediately my boss had dollar sign in his eyes and started to organize everything. He even arrange the hotel which was usually closed for the period scammer wanted to come to extend their opening time and remain opened for 2 more weeks. The sum of their stay would came to around 5000 EUR, and my boss was very happy.

But here is how the scammer wanted to pay: he said that he would charge the whole amount to two credit cards from the people from the group. He said that they are very scared to send their credit card details to various other people, such as rent a car office or airline, so they would only send the credit card info to us, we would charge 10.000 EUR on the credit cards and immediately return 5.000 EUR to them through Western Union.

Incredibly my boss bought the story and was almost ready to do it. Luckily I came to his desk once because I needed something and I just briefly saw his computer monitor where the last email was opened (he exchanged about 20 of them!!). The minute I saw words credit card and western union together I knew it was a scam.

I told the boss, but he refused to believe it. He only saw $$$ signs in his eyes. I finally convinced him to check the credit cards through bank, and guess what, they were stolen and owners did not even know it.

I couldn’t believe it that people actually buy such stupid stories, but I guess greed drives them

PS. does anyone have any fresh scam email? Can you pls PM me, I am looking for little fun and would like to play around with one or two scammers
