Welcome to Tahoe! Spent 28 years there. Sure, it's fiction, but.......... Some ain't.
She Xxxxxxx, was the public information officer for South Tahoe Public Utility District when Tahoe Queen operator Joe Thiemann went on a violent rampage 10 years ago in February. Armed with a gun and more weapons at hand, he confronted his colleague Michael Phillips at his home, hours after the regulatory agency rejected an application to relocate the tour boat from the Ski Run Marina to Timber Cove. After bludgeoning Phillips, Thiemann was shot dead.

"He had the names of all the TRPA (Tahoe Regional Planning Agency), board members in his trunk," she said. It was believed he was headed to the offices. (Tahoe Daily Tribune, 4/17/2007).

Michael Phillips was my next door neighbor. Thiemann's gun jammed, and Mike's son cut him up with a .40 cal auto. The money addiction got to Thiemann. Couldn't handle it, and snapped. The aftermath was pretty bad, especially coming home after work that day. Casinos, drugs, cash. 24 hour lifestyle. Something always cracks, eventually.

Joe tam,

I love Tahoe. I used to go to the south shore twice a year. (time share kind a thing.) In the summer you have the lake and all that goes with that. In the winter you have skiing and all that fun. Getting too old for all of it except the casinos. Sad

GREAT town.
