Can we form a lonely baiters group for people who are the only 419Eater members from their respective country? For group hugs and bitching about the other nations? Very Happy

Spanish is quite close to Portuguese, and the two languages are almost mutually intelligible in written form. It's probably easier for Brazilians to understand Spanish speakers than the other way around, though, and of course regional and national accents can make a huge difference in that respect. Probably like someone from the deep South of the US trying to converse with a Glaswegian.

As for your second question, don't confuse Portuguese people with Brazilians just cuz they speak the same language. There's somewhat of a rift, though largely friendly I think, between the two nationalities and Portuguese people are the butt of many Brazilian jokes.
