For some weird wacked out reason I got this nasty skin rash that won't go away. I've already been to my good friend the GP down the street ... But all he did was give me a good painkiller and some cream to try and calm down this skin rash ... (relax ... it's on my face and arms, not on any other body part)
But that doesn't keep me from scratching during the day. The painkiller can only be taken once a day ... so I feel like 'grrrrrrrr ...' and 'leave me alone' all day long ... Not too nice for my co-workers in R.L.
But great for all of those m.u.g.u.'s who show up in my catcher mailbox.

you can try Prurisidine powder or something, it lightens the itching a bit. If it doesn't go away soon, visit a dermatologist asap. |

That's just it ... went to the dermatologist and allergy specialist in January of this year and they figured out that I was (and still am) allergic to several things.
But all they did was give me the advice to stay away from those items and put loads of skin cream on the red areas (as if I didn't already know that).
Luckily I've got a good skin cream, which I can handle with my skin and a good painkiller will ensure that I can fall asleep easily at night.

For temporary relief you might wanna try an oatmeal bath
Take 1-2 cups of regular Oatmeal and put it in a fine mesh (ie pantyhose)
Place the oatmeal under the bathtub facet and fill the tub with hot water
Take the phone off the hook and enjoy.
It's natural, cheap, easy, and works great on poison ivy, chicken pox and other situations that have ppl slathering on calamine lotion.
It's been used in hospital in the old'n days for generations because it does helps. |

the Clartin over the counter stuff (or the generic) helped me when i had a skin itch -
But again i am not a doctor - your mileage may vary - you may die - you may grown purple hair on your palms - just take it as what helped me |

What he said. What do Doctors know anyway? Triple the dose. Have a glass of good wine and some sushi. |

As above
non drowsy antihistamines, over here most supermarkets do their own cheap brands.
Oatmeal baths.
Calendula cream sometimes helps
Some creams the doc advises don't help if you're allergic to lanolin so check ingredients
Steroid cream such as hydrocortisone may help.
In extemes painting yourself with eosin dye helps. Don't know why it just does ( direct quote from my dermatologist ) The side effect is that you are bright red; really, really red.
For kids with chicken pox I'd use Medised (I should have said instead of Sudafed) as it has paracetamol and an antihistamine. (Dont give other meds with paracetamol in at same time, ie calpol, as it may cause liver damage)
paracetamol has got another name in the states but cant remember what |

Manuka honey. Active +50. Don't eat it, put it on skin. Natural and soothing.
Otherwise, I'm with Repob8 |

Thanks for all of those tips.
I can sure use all of them (or at least most of them )
Thankheaven I'm gonna stay over at my parent's place tonight which means I can take a bath (just have to drop by the store to get som oatmeal), since I just got a shower at my own place.
I'll just print out this subject and keep it somewhere safe ...
