Make sure you're dealing with a normal 'internet' scammer, and not one of the 'pro dater' or worse, types.
There are Russian/Ukranian women who are essentially prostitutes, and meet a different man every week. They'll expect gifts, may raid your wallet, and/or get cuts from hotels, restaurants, travel services, etc.
They DO want you to show up!!!
If you're dealing with a typical 'email' scammer, they may go along with your travel plans, and come up with some emergency right before the date.
"i run over by taxi and in hospital! I die before you come next week unless you send money!'
They don't care if you waste thousands of dollars travelling to meet somebody who doesn't exist.
I've actually talked to men who have gone to Russia to meet or try to find his vlad! One....TWICE.

Have you found out specifically where he/she is? Then you might begin with an internet search for web cams in that vicinity. There is nothing more satsifying than watching your vladette stand around in front of a camera!
Too bad it isn't January.

Hi, if your Dims are in Moscow or St Petersburg then I can help you arrange a fake meeting because I know these cities very well.
Russians are not like Westerners when it comes to arranging meetings - they generally are unreliable and untrusting, so they would probably call a few times on the day of the meeting to ensure its going ahead.

most of these russian romance scams are conducted by groups of male criminals, usually from mari el.
before anyone gets any hopes up of seeing anything on cam, except the hairy arse of boris, I suggest you learn how to identify your typical russian romance scammer by looking at the email headers.
its not hard to learn.
if they want you to travel to them....theres a slight chance its a pro dater wanting to fleece you in person, more likely a busy gang of vlads who don't care where you fly to, they're going to put the bite on you and complete it before you've packed your spiderman pajamas for the trip.
its easiest to learn how to identify the most common type of vlad.
there's not much you can do to bait pro daters unless you travel there.
along with possibly contracting vd, and I don't mean vlad disease, you will then gather evidence this is a lady fleecing lots of guys.....
you can't identify a prodater via baiting. |

Did you really thought that I was going to travel to Russia to meet a scammer or worst, a criminal with a funny hat? Come on...
I just want to piss them off a little bit more. Take a look on "her" mail:
Quote: |
(...) to arrive to my city, you need to arrive to Moscow Sheremetev's 2 airport, there you will need to buy the ticket aboard the plane up to Kazan when you will arrive to Kazan to you it is necessary to buy the ticket for a train up to Cheboksary. It is my city! I shall wait for
you, my darling (...) |
I doubt that I could make her to travel, but... who knows?
Good idea the fake meeting Poccia , lets see what can we do, buddies
Thank you very much

no. I wasn't suggesting you were going anywhere, whether cheboksary, or numptystan.
I was suggesting you check the email headers before you continue baiting this one.
I doubt its a real girl, but possibly might be a type of scammer or golddigger that only will hit you up for money in person.
not productive baiting them.
no way to verify its actually fraudulent without going there if this is the case.
if you check the email headers and see an ip that's dodgy, and/or the bat! or related program.......its safe to bait them and assume they're going to ask for money whether you pretend to visit them or not.
cheboksary is a city in the republic adjacent to mari el, and a favorite place for the mari el scammers to claim to be from
typically scams claiming to be from cheboksary are straight travel and visa scams. there's no live gal in the pics to show up on cam.
nobody is going on safari. |

Ok, maybe it is my fault for not to tell you the whole story:
I am SURE "she" (lets say "she", it is easier) is a scammer, for some reasons:
- She is already in a scammer database.
- She uses The Bat! (v3.0.1.33) Professional, not always.
- She is asking for my money weeks ago: I could to manage it with WU fake websites, weird Secure Codes, etc.
Actually, I got a couple of trophies, but I dont want to post the whole story until she gets really mad.
What do you suggest if a safari is not very likely?

cool.
what is the ip??
its very unlikely they'll jump through too many hoops for you.
they're not like nigerians!
I'm not trying to 'diss' your trophies, whatever they are.
if passports, pics, etc....usually they're faked.
probably the realistic first level of trophies you can attain with a vlad is an UNCHOPPED sign pic.
fairly rare....only because the vlads most often are using sets of pictures of girls they don't have access to....either stolen from the 'net, or less often, purchased from other scummy people who specialise in selling sets of vlad pics to scammers.....or the vlad may be paying local girls to pose and paying fairly small amounts to them.
if its a local girl the vlad has access to, it will cost him a few dollars to make a 'special' picture for you
maybe he already has a 'sign' pic of the girl he can chop your name in?? maybe the girl (meaning pics) is a moneymaker?? spending a few dollars to have her pose with a sign that can be chopped later is probably a good investment.
I like seeing the rare, unchopped, sign pic. it let's me know the person in the pic is at least getting paid to pose for pics used in scams.
that makes them guilty....maybe not quite to the extent of boris, sitting on his arse at the computer.
I enjoy using those pics and ppsting them wherever I can. maybe some girl who posed for them will see them on the 'net in the future and be ashamed....humiliated.......beaten up by her bf for not sharing the money.....etc.
powsting the information publicly, on either of the two boards in my signature....is very important!!
any info you post on most of the forums at eater do NOT show up on search engines.
in the effort to educate the public, and convince victims that 'olga' is ficitional, and not going to climb off a plane in boise idaho to jump into his arms and boff his brains out......we use published information on the vlads, and try to teach them to look for this info themselves.
the letters are recycled. the pictures are recycled. sure...new letters, names, and |

(continued....hit the text limit on my mobile phone which I'm using to reply)
all of the pics, names, letters are kind of interchangeable, and reused. email addresses may be discarded, but they'll hang on to the sets of pics and scripts they usually paid for.
they may alter the scripts a bit, but enough remains intact we can google the letters and show a victim that his letter from marina, is the same as the ones olga sent some other man, and natasha sent before that....etc.
the pics will be given new names, but most victims will kind of wake up when you show them the same pics being used with 20 names.
passports and travel documents they may send are also edited and reused.
I've seen one russian internal passport (same serial number) used with over ten different pics and names.
as trophies, the fake documents are worth a giggle. they're still worth posting on the internet!
at russian detective we've started an archive of fake passports.
we post the passport. include the passport number in text. we can then do a search on the board and pop up the other passports using the same number.
maybe its indicates the same group is sending out the various passports with the same numbers?
maybe not? these are thieves. its also possible they steal from each other.
so....what value is a fake passport posted on the net?
its one more tool we can use to convince potential victims the passport they have from 'olga' is fake.
if you can keep a victim from sending money to a scammer, it hurts them!
I haven't had a death threat in a while. (hey boris, bite my arse!)
I must be slacking off.......
its very important to post the information on a vlad, once you've determined its a scammer.
while you ride out the script, thinking you're protecting your bait.....the vlads are collecting from other victims
these pics and letters are used on hundreds, if not thousands of men at a time.
if I keep a few people from sending money to boris with each scammer I post publicly.....im happy. (boris isn't !!) |

(continued again)
99 percent of the times the vlads are not going to notice your post on them before the bait is over.
they're not going to drop that set of pics, emails, letters....because somebody posts them on the net before they finish the collecting cycle, and usually not for months after they've been outed anyway.
if your vlad goes quiet its not usually because they're on to you.
computers crash. they have big paydays and are partying. vodka goes on sale. they're hiding from other criminals or the cops....etc.
it doesn't hurt to post the data before your bait is over, as long as you can prove its a scammer.
vlads just vanish sometimes.
victims get email addresses shut down, which does very little...or actually does harm.
we can't find them if they change email addresses!!
they're back up and operating within minutes....with no loss of victim or script database. its all external of the email box.
I am supposed to be working, but thought it was important enough to reply right now.
vlad baiting isn't as exciting as the nigerians, but there's a lot of good you can do. its DIFFERENT from the nigerians, also! 419 baiting skills help.....but its different!

Hey Stepan, you are a Master Teacher!!!
Ok, some info of my vlad:
I received e-mails from, at least, 5 different ips. Some of them look like internet caf ips, but I cant be sure:
206.190.53.36 / 206.190.53.31 / 206.190.53.37 / 217.12.11.35 / 217.12.11.62
She is smart also: after I looked upset because all the WU bullshit, she was agree to meet me at Moscow, but she needs money to go to Moscow also!! hahah... clever... so, I think the White Safari is not going to happen...

I think you've gone wrong with the IP addresses. The first 3 you posted show up as Sunnyvale, home of Yahoo. And are you British by any chance, because the other 2 show up as London. The best thing to do is post up the complete headers, making sure you edit out your personal info first. And what Stepan said is nothing new or exciting. It's what we've been trying to get across to people for months on here and on other romance scammer forums. |

Ok, I've had a look at them and the header you need to look at is 85.17.19.47
A little digging shows this as leasenet. A little more digging shows THIS site. Do you recognise your scammer's pictures in there? I'd say the scammer is using a proxy to hide his real location.
Inconvenient things? Good grief no |

shut up wayne. don't you have some panties to inspect??
wayne and I both get frustrated since we both go nuts trying to convince victims that there are some very simple, foolproof tools you can use to determine its a scam. (russians)
you don't need to call a fake hospital in russia to see if 'her' mother is really waiting for surgery to get a taxi fender removed from her arse....you don't need to spend hours looking at vlad pics.....unless you get off on that......etc.
what gets more frustrating is when we see baiters who seem to be clueless, also.
its fairly easy to identify a large chunk of these vlads!!
the vlads aren't real exciting to bait once you fully understand the automated way they operate, but its very possible to bait most of them with little effort. its also kind of exciting when you can identify a new dodge or technique they're using.
occasionally you can get a trophy.....kind of rare.
I get more satisfaction from a good threat from boris. (hey boris....your mama services lorry drivers for vodka money!)

Thank you, BOTH of you.
As you can see, my English is not very good (better than my vlad, thats true) so sometimes I dont get the irony... my fault.
Also because that, maybe you dont understood my story... I know she is a scammer, I dont need a clear clue like her picture under 10 different names... She is my vlad and she loves me!!!
But no, she is not (still) at russian_marriages website. I got about 5 pictures of her, her passport (dunno if it is fake, I guess so), a "I-love-you" picture and one more of her surgery-braz.
Also the names of her aunt and her cousin, who were supossed to take the money at WU.
So, do you think is time to end the bait?

You can still swap to Moneygram and send her to the office to collect her money a few times. Damn but it's easy to mix up a 1 and a 7 or a 5 and a 6 if your handwriting's bad enough Or die and have a relative break the news to her. Odds are she'll grieve for 2 emails then start hitting on him instead. Don't ever drop a scammer. Keep going as long as you can until THEY finally give up on you. Then rebait them from a new address |
