Has anyone come across the below before? I received it yesterday. I probably shouldn't be surprised but, if I hit reply it is to [email protected] - which is a different address to the one that claims to have sent it....

Subject: Representative Wanted.
To Whom It May Concern,...
Enterprise oil plc. UK needs a cash representative in the states.
This project has been developed in a way not to affect your present job nor
bring you anyform of stress but in order to help take care of those extra
costs.
With over 70 years experience in supplying LPG (Liquefied Petroleum
Gas),Enterprise Oil Plc. is the United Kingdoms market leader in the
industry, a position that we are very proud to be in. We pride ourselves on
our commitment to customer care and are proud of our local/International
Customer Operations that allows us to provide our clients with the level of
service they expect.
The handling of the company is in the care of our share holders and as the
Managing Director of the company it came to my knowledge that there are a
lot of lapses in handling funds that come in from the states which come in
forms of bank/cashiers checks, and are not readily cashable outside the
United States.
So we need someone in the States to work as our representative and assist
us in processing the payments from our various clients which come in on a
weekly basis.
This is why we decided to get a representative over in your state to help
us pick up our payments at the contact address which you shall be providing
us.
If you are interested, please do let us know for details on this offer.
Warmest Regards,
Andrew Thomas.
Managing Director,
Enterprise oil plc.

Bog standard fake cheque scam, mate. They use all kinds of different companies and reasons why they need "representatives". Some use a real company's website to bolster the scam, others use fake websites. In this case, it looks like the website is already dead. |
