I've been in touch with the Chinese embassy in France, but they don't seem very eager to deal with this one.

They redirected me to either the Shenzhen office in Germany or to the Shenzhen Industry and Commerce office.

Didn't had time on today to contact them, but I'll try on tomorrow.

It's called a "Chinese Import Scam" and is indeed the Chinese variation of the classic 419.

There was a three page article on these scams in the German magazine "Der Spiegel" about a year ago.
